Passionate About the World's Wild Places and Animals

I am a biologist and wildlife photographer living in Durham, North Carolina. Born in Charleroi, Belgium, a post-doctorate took me to South Africa to study the evolution of a diverse group of Asteraceae. After three years in South Africa, I moved to the United States to work at Duke University. I am now director of the Duke University Sequencing and Genomic Technologies Core.
My work and travels have taken me to Southern and Eastern Africa, Asia, and South and Central America.
